Johnny Reid has reached the top of the Canadian music scene (his live DVD just went triple platinum) and will now head south to try to break into the tough American market.

Having signed with EMI Music Worldwide, the  Scottish Canadian will try to win fans in the US. In Canada, Johnny is billed as a country artist but, knowing US country radio will not accept his genre-crossing music (oh, the irony!), he will reportedly be presented as a rock singer elsewhere. It's a double shame as it would have been interesting to see what the presenters made of his Scottish accent!

Whatever its label, Johnny's music is pretty darn good and we will continue to follow his career.
