Prolific songwriter Monty Powell was named Songwriter of the Year at the SESAC Nashville Music Awards last night.Monty received the honor on the strenght of his two #1 single co-writes with Keith Urban, 'Sweet Thing' and 'Kiss a Girl'.
In addition, 'Sweet Thing' was also named song of the year.
