Due to an unfinished version of the song being leaked, we are getting Carrie Underwood's new single a week early. 'Cowboy Casanova' was rushed to radio stations late on Wednesday and is the first single off new CD 'Play On', due out Nov 3.
It's a super-catchy tune and I like the lyrics. Having been on the receiving end of someone who was 'candy-coated misery/the devil in disguise/a snake with blue eyes', I can only wholeheartedly agree with Carrie's advice to 'run for you life'. But why does this have to be so oversung? We know this girl can hit the big notes but having practically the whole chorus near the top of her range makes it sound screechy. What a shame because if this had been toned down a bit, I could have really liked this song.
You can listen to it here.
